Jena, 10 June 2020 – LVB is continuing to enhance its multimodal mobility app for its customers, working with its strategic partner TAF. The new “LeipzigMOVE” app is available from the Apple and Google Play stores from 8 June 2020. It combines numerous mobility options, and offers full mobility, starting with route information and continuing with reservations, the use of sharing options and payment for all the services. To achieve this LVB is working with partners such as nextbike, DB Flinkster and the 4884 taxi cooperative. To start with, all services relating to local public transport and bike sharing are available. With this, ten hours of bike sharing are free of charge each month. It is planned that the full range of car sharing services will be available from July onwards, with taxi booking to start from August.
“We are continuing to respond dynamically to what our customers want by developing the new app further. Digitisation is offering our public transport customers genuine added value. There is high demand from our passengers for digital services and secure contactless payment options that give them the flexibility to choose the type of transport they want,” says Ulf Middelberg, spokesman for LVB’s management.
The new app offers customers a broad range of new functions. The contract can now be signed directly in the app and all the services can be used immediately once registration is complete. It is even easier and more convenient for users to buy tickets with PayPal. Route planning has also been improved. Automatic completion for the address search function has been customised for Leipzig and is therefore much faster and simpler.
“We have worked with LVB to create an innovative and sustainable architecture for networked mobility. Our TAF mobility platform has made it possible for LVB and other transport companies to offer information on local public transport, ticketing, modern payment methods and other mobility services as part of an app designed for multimodal use. We wish LVB every success with the new mobility solution, which we will continue to develop with them as long-term partners,” says Alexander Buchashvili, Head of Key Accounts & Solution Management at TAF mobile GmbH.
The Jena-based software company TAF has created the interface to the background system so that LVB can integrate further partners and methods of transport at any time. The front-end solution functions on all iOS and Android devices (smartphones, tablets, etc.).
